An ordinary first day

Today you begin university, in Paris. A new city welcomes you, new classrooms, unfamiliar faces that will soon become fellow travelers.
Inside you, excitement, fear, and curiosity are probably mixing together: a whirlwind that may feel overwhelming, but is really just the sign that you are starting something great.
The beauty of the first day is a rare gift. It is the spark that ignites, the flame that shines, the push that makes you open your eyes in wonder. Guard this energy from routine and from haste: nurture it, protect it.
Because in that trembling of beginnings lies the most authentic part of us: the hunger to discover, the humility of not yet having all the answers, the strength of someone who dares to try.
Make every day feel like the first. Even when things seem already familiar, try to look at them with new eyes, because nothing is ever truly the same as yesterday.
I love you. 15 September 2025
